The Beijing Olympic Games organizers reminded Chinese mainlanders who can purchase tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies to hand in their photos by the deadline. Personal information is required so BOCOG can check the authenticity of the tickets at the check-in gates the day of the event, Beijing newspaper The First reported. The photos must not have been taken later than August 2006, should be 48 millimeters by 33 millimeters in size, and the identity card number included in the reply must coincide with the one registered on last years application, the organizing committee said. The BOCOG will mail the purchasers information tables that are also available both at the designated Bank of China counters and on the committee Web site. Buyers must hand in the letters at the Bank of China branches before next month, or they will be disqualified from purchasing the tickets, the report said. Buyers must take their own ID cards when returning the tables in person, and a trust deed will be necessary if the buyer entrusts another individual with the deal. The 26,000 tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics went on sale on the Chinese mainland after the BOCOG launched the first stage of the Olympic tickets sale on April 15, 2007. The price for the red-hot tickets has skyrocketed to 300,000 yuan apiece online. |
