Starting from Saturday, people can help those needy people through purchasing the products under a unique brand of Chinese red, with part of the sales profits to be allocated to help improve medical treatment of those poor households in rural areas. Sponsored by Chinese Red Cross Foundation (CRCF), the charity campaign, scheduled to be officially launched on Saturday, has gained support from some media organizations and enterprises. CRCF said the campaign will mobilize famous enterprises from home and abroad to develop red-colored products labelled with the authorized logo of Chinese Red. Secretary General of CRCF Wang Rupeng told that the Chinese Red Campaign combines charity with commercial sales and will offer an easy access for both the enterprises and the citizens to charity undertakings. So far, news agencies like The Beijing News newspaper and Microsofts online portal, MSN, and leading household appliance producer Galanz as well as Chinas biggest household appliance chain-store brand Gome have joined in the campaign, The Beijing News reported. Having donated one million yuan, Galanz also developed a type of red microwave oven christened Chinese red, promising one yuan donation with the sale of each set. Also, Gome that has donated 1.5 million yuan before the activity starts, will provide a special area for the Chinese red products in its chain shops around the country. The two media organizations will take more efforts to promote this campaign and get more people involved in the charity. Wang Rupeng told The Beijing News that the participating enterprises have great influence in their sectors, while enterprises ever blacklisted due to environmental pollution or cheating consumers will not be admitted in the charity sales. |
